Dr. Scott Pegan, Associate Professor receives grants

Dr. Scott Pegan received a new grant from the National Pork Board-USDA ARS. It is a two-year grant with Dr. Pegan serveing as co-investigator of the study titled “Role of the viral ovarian domain protease in PRRSV pathogenesis.”

Dr. Pegan was also awarded $40,296 from National Institutes of Health for study of the origin of the innate immunity suppression caused by nairovirus’ protease activity.

Served as leading co-organizer of a symposium entitled “Frontiers in Chromatin Biology and Chemical Epigenetics/Epigenomics” at the Pacifichem2015 conference at Honolulu, HI.

Graduate students Kun Qian and Zhen Han in Dr. Zheng’s lab received Best Poster Award at the Pacifichem2015 conference at Honolulu, HI.

As well, Dr. Zheng presented an invited talk titled “Bioorthogonal Chemical Probes of Protein Acetylation” while attending the Pacifichem2015 conference.
