Dr. Aaron Beedle, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences, has published two articles. One is in the journal Skeletal Muscle and the other in the American Journal of Physiology – Cell Physiology.

Dr. Gurvinder Singh Rekhi issued a patent

Dr. Gurvinder Singh Rekhi, Academic Professional Associate, has been issued a US patent for “Controlled Release Combinations Comprising a Combination of Isosorbide Dinitrate and Hydralazine Hydrochloride”. Dexi Liu, Panoz Professor, publishes

Dr. Dexi Liu, Panoz Professor of Pharmacy, has published three articles regarding high-fat diet-induced metabolic disorders and obesity. Dr. Mingming Gao, Assistant Research Scientist in the department, collaborated on these works.

PBS Staff honored by College of Pharmacy

Two members of the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences staff were honored in a ceremony hosted by the College of Pharmacy on Tuesday, May 10. Mary Eubanks, Administrative Associate I, and Joy Wilson, Administrative Manager I, were both honored for 25+ years of service to the College.

Dr. Jason Zastre, Associate Professor, Publishes

Dr. Jason Zastre, Associate Professor, has published a paper in Toxicology Letters: “Plasma protein binding limits the blood brain barrier permeation of the pyrethroid insecticide, deltamethrin.” He was also the invited speaker at the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS) Drug Transporter Workshop in Baltimore, MD. The workshop was held April 17, 2016. Dr. Zastre gave a talk titled “Thiamine Transporters in Cancer.”

Dr. Eileen Kennedy, Assistant Professor, Publishes

Dr. Eileen Kennedy, Assistant Professor, has published a paper in Biochemical Journal: “AKAP18:PKA-RIIα structure reveals crucial anchor points for recognition of regulatory subunits of PKA”. Dr. Kennedy was also invited to speak at the 13th Annual Biochemistry Retreat for Universitat Kassel, held in Wesendorf, Germany, January 20-23, 2016. The title of her presentation was “Targeting regulation and allosteric activation of kinases.”
