Students who wish to apply to the M.S. or Ph.D. programs in the Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences Department must apply to the University of Georgia's Graduate School. Applications to the Graduate School may be completed electronically or on paper. The current application fee is $50.00 (per application cycle).
How to Apply
- Complete the online application at the University of Georgia Graduate School. http://www.uga.edu/gradschool/admissions/requirements.html
- You must submit two originals of all transcripts. One original transcript should be mailed to the Graduate School and one original transcript should be mailed to the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences.
- You must send three letters of recommendation to the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences. You may use the on-line letters of recommendation at the Graduate School. These letters will be transmitted to the department.
- You must send a statement of purpose and a resume to the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences.
- Your application will not be reviewed by the department until it is complete. Inquiries concerning the status of applications should be made to Ms. Meagan Ledbetter, the admissions counselor for the Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences at mledbetter@rx.uga.edu

Test Scores
GRE and TOEFL must be sent to the University of Georgia Graduate School from the official testing center. The University of Georgia school code is 5813. The University of Georgia does not use department codes for transmitting GRE and TOEFL scores. All test scores are processed by the Graduate School and are electronically transmitted to the department. Copies of test scores will not be accepted.
Notification Letters
The initial decision on applications is generally made by the end of February, and final selections will be made by May. Your application file must be completed before a final decision can be made. All applicants will receive a final notification letter from the Graduate School.
Applicant Considerations
Students with a bachelor's degree in the chemical, biological, biochemical, or physical sciences, a bachelor's degree in pharmacy or a doctor of pharmacy degree are strongly encouraged to apply. Performance in the Verbal and Quantitative Tests of the Graduate School Record Examination (GRE) is considered, together with transcripts, letters of recommendation, prior degrees, and work experience.

Acceptance of Credit by Transfer
M.S. Students
With proper approval, six semester hours of credit may be transferred on master's and specialist degree programs. A request for transfer of credit cannot be made until a student has been admitted as a prospective candidate for a degree. The transfer credit must be included on the program of study.
A student enrolled in a program leading to a Master of Science degree may not use transfer credit to fulfill the requirement that one-half of the hours on the program of study be open only to graduate students.
Ph.D. Students
The Graduate School does not allow any transfer of credit for doctoral students.
