Degree Programs

The Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences (PBS) at the University of Georgia offers M.S. and Ph.D. degree programs in all major disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences, including

  • pharmaceutics
  • pharmacology
  • toxicology
  • medicinal chemistry
  • other related biomedical sciences.

Areas of expertise that cross normal discipline limits include

  • drug discovery
  • nutraceuticals
  • bioanalytical chemistry
  • drug formulation design and delivery
  • computational molecular biology
  • pharmacokinetics and drug metabolism
  • injury prevention resulting from weapons of mass destruction and bioterrorism.

During the course of study, students will gain experimental as well as theoretical expertise in the area of concentration and are expected to develop the competencies needed for leadership positions in academia, industry, and government agencies.
